BEN WAS A GORGEOUS RUBY RED COCKER SPANIEL AND WAS MY DAUGHTER LISA-ANNES BEST FRIEND. SHE TOLD HIM ALL HER SECRETS AND HE FOLLOWED HER EVERYWHERE AND YOU KNEW IF YOU FOUND LISA-ANNE, BEN WOULD BE WITH HER. DUE TO FAMILY CIRCUMSTANCES, BEN HAD TO BE GIVEN AWAY. THIS WASN'T DONE LIGHTLY AND WE MADE SURE HE WENT TO A VERY LOVING HOME. HE WENT TO LIVE WITH A HOUSEBOUND WOMAN WHO LOVED HIM ALMOST AS MUCH AS LISA-ANNE. WHEN LISA-ANNE HAD HER BABY DAUGHTER BROOKE, BROOKE HAD DIFFICULTY BREATHING AND AFTER A VERY WORRYING TIME, THANKFULLY, SHE WAS OKAY. OUR DELIGHT AT HER BIRTH WAS IMMENSE SO YOU CAN IMAGINE THE TERRIBLE SHOCK WE HAD WHEN WE WERE TOLD THE SAME DAY THAT BEN HAD DIED, AND AT THE SAME TIME AS BROOKE WAS STRUGGLING TO BREATHE. BEN HADN'T BEEN ILL SO IT CAME AS A COMPLETE SHOCK. LISA-ANNE IS CONVINCED THAT HER LOVING, FAITHFUL FRIEND GAVE HER THE ULTIMATE GIFT AND SACRIFICED HIS LIFE IN ORDER THAT LISA-ANNES DAUGHTER WOULD LIVE. WE KNOW YOU ARE HAPPY BEN, PLAYING AND RUNNING IN HEAVEN AND BRINGING SO MUCH JOY TO EVERYONE THERE THE WAY YOU DID TO US HERE.

Tribute To A Best Friend
Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
